I sent 4-5 inquiries from yelp to photographers.  I got 3 responses back. Matt was the only one with a phone numbers that I can find easily and I txt him  He responded back on Yelp and txt and even called me.  I booked with him right away.  I told him exactly was I wanted and sent pictures to him. He said he can do it.  He stayed in contact with me through the weeks leading up to our appt.  Matt was very easy to work with. I bought 10 outfits he picked the best that would do well in pictures and we rolled with it.  After getting my hair and makeup (Mobile Las Vegas hair and makeup) I drive to his location. He had everything setup ... no wasting time.  He took his time and I never felt he wanted me to hurry!  He wanted to capture the most perfect pictures and would adjust lighting and angles!  He's very out going and willing to work hard for you !

Had the pleasure of meeting and working with Matt today on Freemont St for engagement pictures. What I thought would be a quick session became a fun full of laughter event that was all amazing and fun. Time flew by and never a odd or awkward moment- it was like hanging out with an old friend. First, I found him randomly. His ad stood out because he was able to convey how much fun and passion he hopes to bring to his photo shoots.
And, "wow", did he deliver. He was quick to respond to my inquiry and continued to keep the lines of communication open, arrived early and had the email proofs ready the next day.......what??

Matt has a quiet confidence that allows him to ask a ton of unassuming questions  bringing him closer to understanding your goal as a client. I also found him randomly online and I could not have been happier that I did. First of all, I looked endlessly for the perfect photographer. I wanted somebody who captured the perfect shots and who was also reasonably priced. The number of photographers in Las Vegas are endless and I could not have picked any better.
We communicated primarily through email and he was always prompt in answering any questions that I had. Matt always seemed very enthusiastic and confident of my ideas and wants, that really made me feel at ease.
My husband and I went on our honeymoon two days later and we where gone for one week. Well, when I returned I had an email from Matt telling me that the pictures where ready and he just needed to confirm my address. The turn around time is awesome!!!!! We could not wait to be back home so we could see all the pictures.
I also like the fact that Matt gives you all the pictures (and by that I mean like 500+ photos!) in a CD with full rights.
The quality of the pictures are also very good, all the pictures where clear and the colors turned out amazing. I also liked the fact that he would let everyone know how to pose because that helped avoid any awkward poses (especially me haha..).
Definitely recommend Matt to any bride or person who wants somebody who is reliable, hard working, and good at what he does.

Matt did the headshots for my modeling/acting portfolio and I was impressed with his artistic viewpoint. I would have never thought that shooting against an abandoned carwash would provide such striking contrast. It worked and hilarity ensued! He knew what was needed environmentally to bring out the most genuine and candid shots. From this experience my fiancee at the time and I trusted Matt to shoot our wedding. Now granted, there are a lot of gratuitous moments of cliche during any wedding and only a few shots are normally "frame-worthy". Matt was able to get more than a dozen perfectly timed shots that captured the one-time-only moments we trusted him with (I can only imagine how many hundreds of photos he took to get them!)

Furthermore, not everyone is photogenic. Let's be honest. Some people don't want their picture taken for a reason. That being said, Matt chose wisely when capturing the emotions of others and knew how to photograph them to look their best. It's interesting that while writing this review I see how technical photography is. As with any skilled profession, one must pay their dues and make some mistakes to learn from. Luckily I met Matt after he'd been a photographer for some time.

We had sent out many quote requests during my search for a Photographer and Matt was the first to respond.  We chatted on the phone and right away I sensed a great positive energy about him.  We went through his portfolio online and after a few more conversations, we hired him.  

Matt made me and my husband so relaxed and comfortable during our shoot.  This was especially important because we did our photos before the ceremony.  He had creative ideas on how I could surprise my groom when we saw each other for the first time.  We were looking for some "non-traditional" wedding photos as well as black and white ones and Matt was able to capture everything we wanted.  He captured photos from different angles and lighting and those candid photos of our all family and friends.

Before I intially spoke to Matt I was reading his Yelp! reviews and came upon a review that was written by a mother who hired Matt to shoot her son's Vegas wedding.  Of course she had nothing but positive things to say about him in her post but she also left her phone number to contact for any of those true sceptics.  Me being  the nevous bride I was, I called her up.  We chatted for about 15 mins. about how great Matt did on shooting her son's wedding and how I would not regret hiring him and at the end of our conversation she said "Oh, and please tell Matt I said hello!".  For some reason that really struck me; and it was not until our wedding day I realized myself that in the process of shooting your wedding  he totally becomes part of the experience, like another friend their to enjoy your special day!  

 

TRUST ME; I have been there and have been totally terrified to book a photographer I have never ment in a city I have never been to get married!  It is a lot of trust to put into someone but let me tell you, you will not regret booking him and your photos will turn out amazing!

I found Matt on Craigslist and from our very first correspondence by email and phone I knew he was the photographer for us. He came across as very cool, easy and enthusiastic. Then he had some great ideas for our pictures, too. He suggested photos at night since Vegas is all about the neon and we immediately loved the idea. 

 

I paid half the the total fee as a deposit first via email transfer and the rest in cash after the shoot. And it was a great shoot.

 

We wanted something a little different and off the strip. We shot, beginning just before sunset in the Fremont, "old school" area of Vegas. We shot in a few different locations as the sun went down and got lots of amazing shots into the night. Our favourite ones turned out to the be the ones of us running through the crowd, Matting running backwards to get the shot. In them we look like movie stars fleeing the paparazzi. Very fun, and original and not your typical wedding pictures -- which is exactly what we wanted. 

 

Matt was very easy and fun to work with. He was on time (we were not). He had a simple, very mobile but effective set up of camera (of, course) and a light. From this we got great, very professional pictures. He gave us a copy of all the pictures he took on CD two days after the shoot and also a second CD with touched-up, black and white and other fancy-affect photos. 

 

The whole thing went off without a hitch, the shoot was fun and we wouldn't mind taking Matt out for a drink if ever he is in Montreal.

My husband and I were visiting family in the Las Vegas area and wanted to take advantage of the nice weather with a baby bump photo session (I'm 6 months along). I researched photographers online and choose Matt because I loved the work on his website and found his wording and presentation to be very professional yet fun. 

 

Because my husband and I are not familiar with the area Matt suggested a location based on my specification. When we met him for the first time he went over what we would be doing that day (which my husband and I appreciated), he shared the spots we would be shooting and even specifics on exact shots he wanted to get. Honestly both my husband and I felt like we could of known him our whole lives he was that easy to be with.His nature is warm and inviting and makes you feel totally comfortable. 

 

He was prompt with his follow up pictures (he adhered to his follow up timeline). We are extremely pleased to of found him and worked with him. We only wish he lived closer to us in Portland for future baby pictures!!!!

my first Yelp review... here goes... I was put in charge of finding the photographer for our "Forty Something" family reunion in Vegas this past Memorial Day weekend.  I searched Google, Bing and yes, Craiglist.  Interviewed three photographers.  Met Matt on Craigslist and let me tell you, I and all of my family were totally happy and surprised.  We just got our pics today and we cracked up!  We got candids, portraits, and everything.  He's awesome, and we LOVE the photos.  Matt rocks and he's so got it.  He will not be available to the general public for long.  If you can book him, do it.  His pricing was not the bottom, nor the top.  Worth every penny!   But Matt, where's the butt?!  You really do have talent... with all my thanks... I saw Matt in action when he shot one of my events. He had a ton of energy and was the most professional and courteous person in the room. He got a ton of great shots and was tireless in making sure my needs were met.

I had a wonderful experience with Matt Cali Photography! He was early to every location for my wedding on 2/24/12. He was very helpful about giving ideas about our poses for the pictures. I would recommend him to anyone. He is also reasonably price and a whole lot of fun. Also he was quick to get our pictures back to us. As any bride knows that the waiting game to be able to get them (so you can post them on Facebook) is not very fun.Plus he very personable, memorized everyone's name as if he had been with the family for a long time. He is great!!

Matt is A.MAZ.ING! 

For our Feb 2012 wedding it was really important to us that we didn't just get some "wedding photographer".  We wanted an artist.  Someone that was as excited as we were to be doing this project. After months of planning, I wanted the photos to show how much work we put into it, and did Matt pull through!  

 

From our first meeting I knew he was our guy.  He understood what we wanted and gave great suggestions.  The days leading up to the wedding he would check in to make sure we were still on schedule and if there was anything he could do to help - wow.

 

The day of the wedding, has was only suppose to be our reception photographer but we had him show up to the chapel to get some exra pics as the chapel package came with a photographer.  Thank goodness for Matt! He took better photos then the crappy photographer that came with the chapel package (*ahem* Viva Las Vegas Weddings).  

 

At the reception, Matt was like a ninja!  He did everything possible to get the right shot - from standing on chairs to get the whole group to jumping over couches to catch a cute moment with the kids. Everyone loved him!  When we talk about the wedding, his name always comes up.  

 

His prices are more than fair and the turnaround on the pictures was very quick!  I couldn't have been more pleased.
